Sr. Lease Analyst (Part-time)

Reports Directly To: Land Director

SUMMARY:

The Lease Analyst will analyze, setup, and maintain lease and contract records and review monthly calendar for payments, expirations, and obligations. This position will be responsible for supporting land and lease administration to ensure accurate reporting data.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes and inputs lease and contract data into Quorum Land System to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Reviews oil and gas agreements and title information to verify, calculate and maintain ownership interests in the land system.
  • Prepares exhibits for transactions.
  • Gather and analyze data for monthly contract obligation reports and lease obligations reports. Submit and process land payments through Quorum Land System or check/wire requests.
  • Create various reports from Quorum Land System or parallel systems pertaining to critical leases, contracts, agreements, acreage reporting, cessation of production, etc.
  • Ability to review title information and check accuracy of legal descriptions against maps.
  • Assist in other land specific projects, as necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

This role supports the land manager, landmen and land administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling a wide range of land tasks. The candidate must be well organized, flexible, and be able to balance multiple priorities at the same time with a high level of detail.

  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Perform daily tasks with integrity, a focus on teamwork, open communication, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize duties.
  • Possess a working knowledge of oil and gas vocabulary and land-related contracts/documents.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to add value to the team with problem-solving skills and forward-thinking skills.
  • Possess refined interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, including writing and telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand legal descriptions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning and understanding software.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience (preferred).
  • Minimum ten (10) years of in-house petroleum land experience (required).
  • Quorum Land System experience (required).
  • AI contract/land tool experience (preferred).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Fluent verbal and written skills in English.

LICENCES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Professional Land Management Certification (preferred)

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
  • May occasionally be asked to work nights/weekends if urgent issues arise
  • Eligible for Hybrid Telework Program
