SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will possess a diverse background in all aspects of production engineering, including wellbore integrity and optimization, as well as surface facilities design and optimization. A strong focus on HSE, process safety, optimization, and field operations will be required. The role will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and Engineering and is a foundational role for the organization. The Production Engineer must also have working knowledge of drilling and completions to assist in facilitating handovers and ensure optimum lifecycle well design.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • NODAL Analysis: Utilize advanced NODAL analysis techniques to optimize well performance and enhance production efficiency.
  • Artificial Lift: Specialize in plunger lift and gas lift applications, ensuring efficient and effective artificial lift operations.
  • Production Surveillance & Optimization: Implement and manage production surveillance programs to monitor well performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Workovers and Recompletions: Oversee workovers and recompletions, including coiled tubing and snubbing operations, to enhance well productivity and longevity.
  • Oilfield Chemical Programs: Develop and implement oilfield chemical programs to optimize production and mitigate potential issues.
  • Facility Design and Optimization: Design, optimize, and coordinate the installation of single or multi-well pad facilities to ensure maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness; will require coordination with other disciplines
  • Measurement, Instrumentation, & Automation: Awareness and proficiency in various measurement, instrumentation, and automation design aspects of oilfield facilities.
  • Compressor Design & Optimization: Understanding of compressor design and optimization for gas handling and transportation.
  • Flow Back and Well Testing: Design and oversee flow back and well testing operations to gather critical data for production optimization.
  • SWD Wells and SWD Facilities: Manage SWD wells and facilities, ensuring compliance and efficient disposal of produced water.
  • Pipeline Hydraulics: Apply knowledge of pipeline hydraulics to optimize fluid/gas transportation.
  • Water Sourcing: Coordinate water sourcing and transportation activities, ensuring an uninterrupted water supply for completion or production operations.
  • Process Safety: Apply fundamentals of process safety in all aspects of production engineering activities.
  • Maintenance and Asset Integrity: Develop and implement an equipment maintenance schedule to ensure asset integrity and mechanical reliability and reduce unplanned downtime events.
  • Greenhouse Gas Mitigation: Contribute to initiatives for greenhouse gas mitigation, promoting environmental sustainability, and whenever practical to secure Responsibly Sourced Gas (RSG) certification.
  • Metallurgy and Corrosion Mitigation: Apply basics of metallurgy to prevent corrosion and ensure equipment longevity.
  • Operations Support: Collaborate with field operations teams, providing expertise in LOE cost management, production optimization, mentoring field staff, and provide key inputs to budgeting and forecasting activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead, communicate, prioritize their efforts for maximum effectiveness and impact
  • Possess high ethical standards of conduct, reflect MEPUSA’s core values, and fit into our safety first culture
  • Must be able to work well with other disciplines and departments and have enough depth of experience to occasionally sit in for Vice President of Operations and Engineering.
  • Possess refined interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to travel and work 10 – 20% in the field as appropriate
  • Ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent engineering degree with related work experience
  • Minimum 10 years of production/facilities engineering experience required (15-20 years preferred)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge required - MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Fluent verbal and written skills in English.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • PE certification is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This job generally operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
  • May occasionally be asked to work nights/weekends if urgent business or operational issues arise
